Which Charitable Organizations are eligible for consideration by the group?

To be eligible to be added to our charity list, an organization must:

  • Be nominated by a current member.
  • Be based in the Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Enumclaw and surrounding area or service those areas.
  • Be a registered not-for-profit or charitable organization eligible to provide tax receipts for donations upon request (a 501 (c)(3) organization).
  • Be established for 1 or more years.

In order to be drawn for consideration at a 100+ Women Who Care Foothills meeting:

  •  The Core Committee will take nominations and vet them to make sure they meet our designated criteria.

How is the charitable Organization chosen?

When a member registers, they have the opportunity to nominate a local organization.  These names go into a "hat" for a random drawing, done one month prior to the 100+WWCF meeting by our Core Members.

The Core Members will collect the names of the organizations and review them to ensure they meet the criteria as follows:

  • Meets the non-profit criteria above
  • Has not received a donation gift in less then 2 years
  • Was not a presenter at the previous meeting

The three charities drawn will be notified within the month prior to the meeting that they have been nominated.  They will have the opportunity to prepare a presentation to share at the next 100+WWCF meeting.

After each charity has presented, a vote will take place and the charity with the highest number of votes will receive the donation gift.  You must be present to vote, as the charities will not be publicized prior to the meeting.

How many members are there? Can men join? Can I bring a friend?

Our goal is to be AT LEAST 100 members strong.  The more members we have, the greater our donation impact.

We won't turn away anyone based on gender; however, this area can more then sustain a 100+ Men Who Care chapter.  Until one is created, we'll take them!

Yes, please bring a friend.  We are always looking to expand our membership.  In order to vote, she will need to become a member.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes, only not-for-profit and charitable organizations will be sponsored by the group.  Checks are written directly to the charitable organization NOT to 100+ Women Who Care Foothills.  Tax receipts will be issued directly by the charitable organization.

How Long do meetings last?

Meetings are intended to be short, sweet and to the point, no nonsense!  We hope to keep the time to 90 minutes including sign-in time.

Do any of my donated funds go to administrative costs?

NO!! 100+ Women Who Care Foothills is organized by a Core Membership of Volunteers.  100% of the money raised goes directly to the chosen charity.
We operate on sponsorships from members and local businesses (Thank you to The Loft Salon for financing the start up costs).  If you would like to help with expenses or join our Core Membership, please contact us!

What do you do with my personal information?

We collect your personal information for the purpose of maintaining a membership list.  We will not sell, give or share your information without your prior permission, except when required by law.

We do like to recognize our members on social media from time to time.  If a member would like to remain anonymous, they should let us know at the time of joining.

How long is the commitment?

We hope you will commit indefinitely. However, we realize that life throws us curve balls that can change your personal situation.  If at any time you are not able to meet your commitment, please let us know so we can properly reflect the expected donation amount.
